Building Balloon and Party Warehouse

Every business has a beginning — and ours started with a big idea, a unit full of potential.

Before Balloon and Party Warehouse opened its doors, it was just an idea — a vision to create a space that was more than your standard party shop. We wanted to build something that would work just as well for balloon business owners and event decorators as it would for parents planning a party. A place that offered quality, consistency, and a real understanding of the industry.

We found our premises in Ormskirk — a blank space full of potential, but it needed serious work to become the kind of shop we had in mind. And that’s where the real graft began.

 

The Build

We laid brand new flooring throughout the entire space, making it clean, fresh and ready for footfall. We gutted and revamped the toilet — because every detail mattered to us, even the ones customers might never notice.

Then came the shelves, the painting, the stock deliveries, the last-minute orders, and the non-stop rearranging. We weren’t following a blueprint — we were building as we went, figuring it out on the fly. There were multiple versions of the shop layout before we found something that worked (and truth be told, we’re still moving things around to make it better).

We worked late nights and early mornings, trying to make it all come together.

It wasn’t polished, but it was real. And it was ours.

 

The Vision

From day one, our mission has stayed the same: create a shop that’s easy to work with, well-stocked, and run by people who genuinely get it. We’ve been on both sides — as customers and now as suppliers — and that perspective shapes everything we do.

We keep our stock up to date with products our customers actually want and use. We’re constantly expanding our inventory with new lines, licensed themes, and seasonal supplies. Whether you’re picking up helium, foil numbers, or themed party ranges, our goal is to be the place you can trust to have what you need, when you need it.

We don’t believe in gimmicks or hard sells. Just great products, honest pricing, and friendly service from people who are in this industry with you.


Looking Back — and Ahead

When we look back at those early photos — the flooring going down, the shelves going up, the chaos of opening day — we can’t help but feel proud. Balloon and Party Warehouse has grown so much since then, but that DIY spirit is still very much alive.

We’re still learning, still improving, and always looking for ways to make the experience better for our customers — both in-store and online.

This blog series is our way of sharing that journey. Over the next few posts, we’ll take you deeper into how we’ve grown, what we’ve learned, and how we keep building behind the scenes — one delivery, one display, and one new product line at a time.
